Background

My name is Sara Keary, PhD, LICSW (she/her/hers) and I am a have been a gerontological social worker  working with older adults and their families since 2004. My work has primarily focused on supporting families and caregivers in crisis, during inpatient geriatric psychiatric hospitalizations and hospice care. I also have experience working in palliative care settings as well as bereavement. My research has focused on advance care planning, end-of-life care planning, and working with sexual and gender minority older adults (LGBTQIA+) regarding their experiences with accessing and using aging services.
